Medical Student Elective


St. Luke's Roosevelt offers a comprehensive elective in emergency medicine for 4th year medical students.  Whether this is your ultimate career choice or you are trying to improve your clinical and procedural skills, this elective has much to offer.

 

 

Schedule        
14  10-hour clinical shifts* at both the St. Luke's and Roosevelt Sites  
1 EMS ride-along
*Students have flexibility in scheduling their shifts

Availability    
Every month, except June

 

Conference
Resident conference, every Wednesday 7am-12pm
Directors' Oral-Boards style conference, bi-monthly

Direct attending supervision in the ED

Assigned attending preceptors

Packet of essential EM journal articles

Suture and splinting workshops

Ultrasound workshop

Scheduled meeting with Residency Director discussing pearls in matching in EM
