Residency Program
St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center offers a three-year Columbia University-affiliated emergency medicine training program with fourteen residents in each year. The program begins in the first postgraduate year (EM-1). Our goal is to teach residents the full spectrum of emergency medicine, preparing them to: master the cognitive, interpersonal and procedural skills of clinical emergency medicine, educate others in the specialty, evaluate new information in a scientific manner, and perform research. Our program offers residents a unique clinical training environment, with over 150,000 patient visits to our emergency departments annually.
